Can't install W8 - Something about GPT harddisk....

Yeah... So I'm trying to install W8 dual boot with W7, and when in the setup file (following this guide; step 6D, the installation: Dual Boot Installation - Windows 8 and Windows 7 or Vista ) - after entering the serial and agreeing with the terms - When it's time to select a drive to install W8 on; It says I can't install on the hard disk "Windows8" because it is... Well, I don't remember exactly what it said but something like "Can't install on hard disk Windows8 because it is a GPT hard disk". Windows8 is a hard drive partition I created yesterday; before downloading W8.
Now... How do I change that? The hard disk has 49,9 GB of space avilable. So... Yeah.. How am I supposed to do? I really want to install Windows 8!
    Hope you can help! Thanks!

I'd use gParted by booting to it. Use that to make it a basic drive with a primary partition. Set it active.

    Reinstall Windows.

Many, many ways to do. I gave ya mine. Good luck.

    ---- Edit:

Ohh, I re-read and this is not a drive but rather a partition you're trying to install to? You'd probably have to convert the drive to basic first, non-destructively. I think gParted does that too.

This thread seems to have other good info:

If you're dual booting you should be able to just log into W7 and change the partition from Drive Management, you can easily put it back to Basic disk from there.

To install on a GPT drive, you need to use the UEFI install, which you can select from the Boot Devices menu. Or use the bios to set it up.

If Windows 7 is a UEFI install, reconfiguring the hard drive will remove the Windows 7 install.

Do you know how to boot to a UEFI DVD? I suppose the tutorial showed how...

If you are using a Flash Drive, did you format it FAT32?

Nope, I'm using the "setup.exe" in the sources folder; option 6D!

Not sure how to respond to that. If the tutorial does not mention using that option for a UEFI install, you need to rethink.

If you have the files from the .iso, you should be able to use the link below to make a bootable flash drive. Make sure and format it into FAT32 and then copy the Windows 8 files over. The directory structure needs to be maintained. When you boot your system with the flash drive, use the boot device menu to select the UEFI version. If you can't find a boot device menu, you should be able to set the flash drive to boot in the bios. In certain circumstances, you may need to remove it during the first reboot to keep it from booting back into the flash drive.

Edit: The Microsoft DVD/USB download tool will not create a UEFI bootable Flash Drive, because it formats in NTFS not FAT32.

If you need to use your current procedure, I cannot help with that. Maybe someone else knows.

I think I have an idea. You have to purposely burn a DVD copy of the Win8 and then use the UEFI BIOS to select a the UEFI version of the the DVD drive. That should get it to work.
