Hi!! I'm wondering if it's possible to duplicate partition and upgrade it to windows 8.

So right now I've this Windows 7. I've got the MiniTool Partition Wizard 7.5. It has an option to copy partition.
In the past I've done some things and at the moment I've one partition. Boot files, pagefile, system active files every single bits are in that partition.

If I make an another partition and copy the active partition to it will it work? Do you think it will copy every settings and registry keys successfully? Will it figure out the "Local Disk" letter and become 2nd OS in dual boot?

If that plan works out I wanted to upgrade one of the windows 7 since I'll have 2 exact "windows 7"s.
I wanted to see true windows 8 VS windows 7 configuration.

Worked for me copying Win7 to an SSD - I used Paragon Partition Manager which sorted the "active" partitions and the boot manager entries.

so You're all saying that I should use some cloning software instead of copying the partition. That seems more logical.
