Error when selecting 'Where do you want to install Windows?'

Attempting to do clean install. When I get to screen in title, Drive 1 shown as Unallocated Space. Select the drive and click next. Get error message ""We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files." Click new and install a partition on Drive 1. Click next. Get same error message. Attempted to install under same conditions on Drive 2 and Drive 3. Same error message on them. Suggestions? Thanks.

If your disk controller is running in AHCI mode try changing it to IDE mode.

BIOS only offered two choices - AHCI or RAID. Tried RAID, same result.
