W8 RTM Enterprise (Real version) X Install via USB3 and SSD -- 5 Mins

    Hi there
Ms have definitely done their homework.
Created bootable USB3 drive and copied ISO to it.

Then installed to ultrabook type laptop to 250 GB SSD from USB3.

5 Mins - up and running (excluding time to copy ISO to USB3 drive to start with which didn't take long either)

OK Have to install apps etc -- but bootable running system after 5 - 6 mins. !!!

    Can't complain about that one.

USB3 with SSD seems unbeatable combination .

    Cheers

    Thanks for the good news.

So is it the claimed 9200.16384 (the leaked version was talking about) or did they changed something?

    Cheers

How to bypass product key while installing Windows 8

You can save a few seconds during installation.

Works great with my Windows 8 pro rtm

    Interesting...

So if we have a Enterprise disk, we can change it to Pro in the [EditionID] section?

That way you don't need to waste another 3GB of download...

The setup will not ask you anymore about a key, the setup will then continue as for Windows 7.
Also, please note that this only let you install those versions, but you will still need to enter
a key in order to activate Windows. It's just a workaround, also needed if you want to create an Windows 8 AIO disc.
You will still get a nag screen asking for activation.

I'll try to switch EditionID to see what happens. If it fails then we'll now not to mess there (just because a 3.2GB install.wim can include all versions but I'm not sure).

The setup will not ask you anymore about a key, the setup will then continue as for Windows 7.
    Thanks for this great tip!

Must be nice to have your USB3 ports bootable. On the new HP and Dell desktops only the USB2 ports will show up in the boot menu.

The install is still very fast on USB2. A crazy fast of the recieving media is SSD.
