Can't see screen while installing Windows 8

Hi, new here, and have a question and wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I am installing windows 8, it comes to a point where my screen goes dark, and I can see my cursor, but that's all. I am an ATI 6850 card, and from what I've read windows 8 doesn't like them. What can I do to see my screen? Thank you.

Sorry Jack, just seen this one. Try this, when booting up your PC, keep pressing the F8 key, once you get to the screen restart your PC in Safe Mode with Networking. Once you get your Windows desktop, click on "Computer" to open it, then right click the C Drive, Properties, and then go to the Tools on top, and run "Error Checking" If that comes up fine, go while still in Safe Mode to ATI's website, and download the Windows 8 beta driver for your 6850 card, and install it. I believe that should solve your problem. The beta drivers shouldn't pose a problem till final release of the drivers for Windows 8. BTW Jack? If you would of went to ATI's website, they have your issue as a known issue.

*Note* You will SEE the screen in safe mode, it is only 16 colors, and has a default generic Microsoft driver that works for any video card.

Sorry for the ranting and raving, so frustrating that I can't get this to work! I should have taken it out on my keyboard.
So Boot up in Safe mode first thing without installing windows 8?? It's a bit confusing. How do I then get windows 8 installed. See I'm was going to use it as my main OS for now. Thanks and appreciate the input!!

No..No..No.. I was under the assumption that Windows8 RP is already installed, BUT! If you have another O/S installed you can download the Win8 beta drivers without a problem. BUT then while installing Windows 8 RP, you will need to tell the O/S installer where the driver is so that it can load as well.

The only problem is when it boots only so far, the screen goes black, and all I can see and move is the mouse cursor, do you know what I mean? See in this way I can't see anything to do any other task. Thanks

I understand that, that is why I said instead of a normal boot, to use a safe mode with networking boot. YOU will see the screen, but only in 16bit color. then go from there and follow the other steps.
