What will happen if I install windows 7 after windows 8?

I have windows 8 RP installed. I want to install windows 7 as dual boot. What will happen to the boot loader and stuff? Will I not be able to log into windows 8?

Actually I have a lot of OSes installed in this PC (work related) and have 3 Windows installations + Windows 8RP installation. I need to install another 7 on it. I cannot start from the scratch.

    Welcome Anusha

No, you should be able to log in Windows 8.

Please See: I guess you now have a metro boot menu, since you say you have 4 os installed, and Windows 8 was the latest installed os. If you install a Windows 7 now, you will lose the metro boot menu. It will be replaced by the text-based boot menu of the new W7 installation. Its difficult to bring it back. I so far haven't succeeded in doing so

What are the other three Windows Installations? So you have this many different partitions? What do you mean by saying install another 7? Do you already have a W7 among the other three installed os?

Actually losing the metro boot menu is a plus in my case.

I have windows 7 HP x64, windows 7 ultimate 32bit, windows 7 ultimate x64, windows vista ultimate 32bit, windows 8 release preview x64 already installed on this PC. All these are in different partitions. This is for testing printer drivers.

 Then Go forward and install W7. You should be able to boot in W8 normally, if nothing unexpected happens

One problem though. Can I disable driver signing in Windows 8 (by going through advanced startup options in control panel) without the Windows 8 boot loader?

I think you should be able, without the W8 boot loader. In the text based boot menu, highlight W8 and press F8 for advanced options.

Never tried 7 after 8 install but I think 8 will still remain on the boot list because the boot-loaders are much alike.

I had installed W7 after W8. Windows 8 remains in the boot list exactly like any other OS would.
