    Try:-

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Re...rosoft%20Vista

Obviously replace "Vista" with "Win 8" - should work.

Boot with the ubuntu live CD or USB and install boot-repair:
11.10 - Recovering grub after installing windows 7? - Ask Ubuntu (at 2/3 of the page near the end).
Use Mad Horseman's link above and it also get's you to the program.

Then run it (recommended repair button).

But it's easy and works every time here.

    Thanks.

I didn't said it's fun. But I'm glad you fixed it.

Got fixed ubuntu with that method after a Win7 install, but never after Win8. It always worked so far.

If you are just doing development, Ubuntu in VirtualBox is a LOT nicer setup than dual booting. You can be using windows and linux apps at the same time.

I agree - but I'm using my "old" PC for that purpose as it shares it's TV/Monitor with the Pi.....!! What the Finance Director will say when the second Pi turns up........ I dread to think.

MadHorseman i think you should drop vista. As is it is to me how much time do you devote to each OS per day.
