While at a computer show, I found a Windows 8.1 Pro disk with CD key. Seller assured me key was un-used. Since I got an old computer up and running, I bought the disk for $25. Of course, no receipt. Well anyway, it started to install and asked for the key, I entered key, it took it and finished installing.
So after downloading/installing a ton of software, I checked Updates and its telling me its not activated. So I tried the key again and it said "Try again later". I've tried again later for two days. So then I tried to buy a key on-line. Same thing..."Try again later".
I have no idea. Either the key is bogus, or Microsoft is "Out to Lunch" for the past two days.
Should I keep trying the key and/or buying a new key on-line ... or find/buy a new CD key and hope its not a rip-off again?
