I tried to re install windows 8.0 from factory dvd's created at the time I purchased the PC. Found I could not upgrade to 8.1.
So I found that I could download an ISO from Microsoft and installed and registered it with no problems.
In searching for updates it will run all day and never find anything to install.
I use Windows Defender and expected to see updates on a routine basis but nothing ever comes in.
Where am I missing some setting to make these updates or any security types happen.
