Migrate Win OS from SSD to Harddrive

You don't touch it unless you want to restore your system you should create new ones every month if you fully compress them you should be able to keep a few make sure you create a bootable disk for the clone so you can boot up to restore

Cloning or making full partitions will not delete anything from the source SSD.

Using Windows Disk Management, how many partitions are on the original SSD? What are they? How much bytespace allocated to each partition? Within each partition, how much of that allocated bytespace is actually being used? One exception! Windows 7 sometimes has a System Reserved partition -- unreadable by most windows utilities, this is normal. I don't know what Windows 10 has for system-boot partition[s].
Using Windows Disk Management, on the replacement HD, what partitions have you created so far? , How much allocated bytespace for each one?
If you clone SSD onto replacement HD, the replacement HD will be an exact mirror of the original SSD.
If you make full images of each SSD partition, and you restore said partitions [in the order as found on the SSD], the replacement HD should be good to go. I do not know if Windows 10 is also "married" to a HD [along with UEFI or BIOS]-- others can tell us.
I'm repeating some of the above postings, 'cause I kinda sorta got lost in the shuffle, I'm in and out of classes today.

Can't make image on this USB. It is 129Gb partition with 89Gb used. there is only 1 partition on it.
The HD has 2 partions and no boot only data on 1 partition and the other partition is unallocated. You see the attached shot where it says all data will be destroyed if I try to migrate? Well I want it on G but can't select it just the disk, and all my data is on D: Toshiba will be wiped out.Click image for larger version

I missed the part about migration, I was thinking imaging. Let me bow out and let others continue the discussion

OK. well thanks to everyone. I now know that I can migrate and not lose my copy, and that I can mirror if it is not on USB port, and that I must somehow back upthe data on my HD so that I can migrate to it.

I've used it for close to a year and just recently I've reformatted it and install a clean Win 7 HE 64bit without the bloatware from HP. I've saved some RAM resources by...
