Hi everyone. I took my Acer laptop to a repair shop and they installed windows 10. I do not care for Windows 10 , but I do have a system image of Windows 8.1. Can I install Windows 8.1 from the system image. Any assistance will be helpful. deanie44

Hello Deanie, :)

If the shop upgraded your PC to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 instead of a clean install of Windows 10, then you could use the "Go back to the previous Windows" feature to quickly go back to Windows 8.1 if it hasn't been longer than 30 days since upgrading to Windows 10 and you didn't delete the Windows.old folder.

Deanie,

What don't you like about Windows 10?
If it's the fact that it doesn't have a programs menu, then your solution is easy. Just download and install the "Classic Shell".
I do that for my customers who buy a new PC with Windows 10 installed and just HATE IT!

By the time I get through in the "Settings" menu of the Classic Shell, and then install my Security Software and a few helpful Utilities, they might even think they are still running XP or Windows 7.
Windows 10 really is a pretty good OS, once you customize it a little, to meet your own likes and desires.

I won't use it here, because it won't run older 16 bit programs.

Good Luck!
