Good evening everyody, sorry I'm new here.

Here's my problem : I have a brand new asus transformer book t100HAN, but it came with windows 10 family edition in it, which I intensely dislike.

I have two copies of windows 8 pro (through my university) one x32 and one x64 ; is there any way for me to ditch the windows 10 and install one of my win8 on the t100HAN ?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a big fan of Win10 myself, but consider that Win8 is already out of support, so you would need to upgrade to Win8.1 soon after install. And, if you then add a Start Menu (of which several good ones are available), then what you end up with is a LOT like Win10. Myself, I refer to Win10 as Win8.2 with spyware -- as that is what I consider it to be. And, I use the best Win10 spyware remover out there (Destroy Windows 10 Spying) to disable the telemetry being sent to MS, and I do NOT use Cortana, OneDrive, or Store apps.

The other big difference between Win8.x and Win10 is the forcing of Windows Updates -- but there are also ways (as documented in our sister site -- the Win10 Forums) to disable Windows Update from updating Drivers.

My advice is to make these changes and stick it out with Win10 for a while -- and see if then, it's tolerable. Moving back to Win8.1 is really NOT going to be a lot different from Win10.

Thanks for the quick answer !

Yeah, same here, the main problem with win10 is the mass spying and the lack of control for the windows update.

I'll follow your advice and see if it works for me (thanks for the tip about "destroy windows spying"). However, if it doesn't, is installing a brand new windows possible at all on those kind of tablets without screwing everything up? (just a yes/no question)

Anyway, thanks again !

Problem with installing on a tablet is you need a way to boot from installation media -- and often, that is not possible.

Also, you have to be concerned about device drivers, and unless the tablet OEM provides such drivers, since MS only provides drivers with the basic functions, some stuff (like touch, WiFi) is liable NOT to work.
