Problem in re-installing Windows 8.1

Dear all,
I think i did a big mistake when i decided to upgrade to Windows 10.
I bought a Toshiba satellite laptop few months ago with Windows 8.1 x64 preinstalled on it.then did upgrade to Windows 10 then the problem started : yesterday i was not even able to start the laptop it says " no bootable device"
I downloaded a clean version of Windows 8.1 and used USB to reinstall the system, always the computer not able to install : it stops at the step when i want to choose a disk partition, i see the disk partition with full capacity but it doesnt allow the installation it says that the disk is going to fail and not possible to install on it .
I tried all utilities of fixing the boot, i tried also many times to go back to windows 8.1 and tried to restore original settings but nothing works..

Now i went to the cmd prompt, i tried to use deskpart to check the disk, i see that the disk is there with full capacity and online, but when i try to see the list of volumes it says there's no volume. so i tried to create a partition but when i run the cmd create partition primary it always fails and says " diskpart has encountered an error : data error cyclic redundancy check ..

I'm really confused don't know what to do ? is the disk the hardware damaged ( i see it online and with full capacity ), is there a solution for this please ?

Thank you so much in advance

Thank you, but i tried all the tools related to recovery and repairing mentioned in those tutorials but nothing works.. its not an ordinary recovery , there's a problem with the disk, there's no partitions at all and i couldn't create one and format it to be able to install windows again on it

SO the question was though,

have you asked this question in the actual forum of your Laptop maker?

they would truly know the answer.. or to send you a recovery disk or sometimes you can even download them

PM message sent to you buddy..

Answering the OP's question, as a working Computer Tech, I'd say the drive has failed and you need to take the PC to a qualified repair shop and get it fixed, possibly with a new HD. But only a trained Tech could determine that.

If I had the PC here, I could easily determine if the HD had failed. And replace it, if it HAD failed.

But, since you don't even tell us where you are, like most of us do, I can't really say "Come on Down and I'll fix it for ya!"

Good Luck,

Thanks a lot guys, Technomage & Brooksndun,

i'm software engineer familiar but with hard and soft issues but this is the first time this happens to me? indeed, i'm in Belgium not in the US :)

I have a friend worked in IT helpdesk for years , he is gonna take a look, but 95% of chances that indexes in the chip are lost or the disk is damaged.. we'll see

Have a nice day
