    How Long?

Hey guys, I searched and couldn't find so I'll make a new thread. How long does the W8RP take to install? I have the ISO file ready. Is it faster to make USB or DVD or mount and run? When I upgraded to 7 on one of my laptops, I mounted my ISO with Virtual Clone Drive, and on another with USB, and both finished install faster.

Tl;dr What is the fastest way to upgrade to W8CP, and how long does it take? Thanks

As I know it won't take 20 to 30 mins of installation.

What I did is burn it on a DVD/CD then restart and change the boot drive from DVD/CD drive.

And I suggest to have a clean install.

I ended up formatting my hard drive, and doing clean installation with USB. Took exactly 19 minutes and 27 seconds from when it started installing until I got to the personalize screen.

I do all my Windows 7 installs from USB thumb drives. For me its significantly faster than from a DVD drive.

    Enjoy W8 RP!

Like Alphanumeric, my preference is also to go from a USB drive for Windows 8 installation. This means downloading the ISO, then using a tool like the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool to have it create a bootable image of the ISO installer. I've installed on numerous laptops and desktops, but my installs have mostly been to SSDs, so time is usually between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on source and target. A fast USB drive will help, too.
