Solved How can I re-install windows 8.1 without manufacturer junk

I had asked a few weeks ago what to do about being unable to update or install patches to Windows 8.1. Tried everything suggested except doing a re-install from disks I made. I was hoping to avoid this, but as my laptop is slowly becoming more and more less usable, it looks like I have no other choice at this point. So what I am wondering is there any way I could pull JUST Windows from the restorations disks without all the added junk the manufacturer added? I just hate all that bloat ware that companies add to your system at the factory! Who seriously needs another program to play videos when you have Windows Media and VLC? I've never been a fan of Norton and it's a royal pain to completely get it off your computer as well. You get the picture, I just want a vanilla copy of Windows where I can choose what to install or not.

Well, these days the real culprit is the microsoft OS itself, all the preinstalled (cr)apps.

Okay, I have two days off in a row this week, so it's now or never to do this. Gathering all my flash drives and backing up personal data tomorrow before work. Now, after I do a clean (without Toshiba added junk) install of windows 8.1, question is, should I upgrade to windows 10? What are some of the pro's and con's to upgrading to 10? With the P/N and S/N of 8.1 can I do the upgrade without installing 8.1?

Oy! I'm sooo pissed right now. Besides working long hours and catching the flu, I actually looking forward to putting things back the way they belong. But....nooooooo. I started to notice that the right hinge was making a clicking noise. Seems a screw fell out somewhere along the line and it's been slowly coming apart. Meanwhile, I was just about to place an order for a second keyboard. This will be the second one!!!

Now I know you are all thinking "user abuse" or something along those lines. This just isn't the case. I don't drink or eat near the computer at all. I don't even take it out of the house or let my 11yr old daughter play Mine Craft on it as she has often begged me to allow. I just have to say, If this is the quality of Toshiba computers I'd never buy another one! I did my due diligence, and researched this particular model, and it had very high ratings. Now I'm wondering if I take it to someplace I'd trust to do repairs like Microcenter and have them fix it all, and get a extended warranty. I originally bought it from Radio Shack in 2014, as a brand new clearance item. Thankfully I didn't get the extended warranty from them, as Radio Shack no longer exists.

And here I was thinking of bumping the memory up to 16G and putting in a SSD drive next year. Considering this is now going beyond just a reinstall of the OS, what would you do?
