I need information on purchasing a product key

I accidently purchased an upgrade to Windows 8 when I meant to purchase a new install. It's in a different language, so I had a bit of trouble understanding the product information at the time.

I didn't notice it was an upgrade when installing because it was all in a different language and I only half understood what the prompts were asking me. The product key is valid, so it allowed me to install the program, but of course I have an error message that the product key can't be used now that it wants me to register it online.

I was hoping that someone could tell me how I can just purchase a product key rather than having my current upgrade windows returned. I believe that it will be a very difficult to have it returned, so I would rather just pay an extra fee to have it upgraded to the full version.

Thanks, but that wasn't quite what my problem was. I ended up sending back the upgrade disk and bought another one that was a full install. Thanks for trying to help.
