I created the USB flash drive from Microsoft's website.

Notebook Specs:
Processor Intel Core i3 2365M 1.4GHz
Motherboard Serial No: CAN0BC240456425
HDD: Seagate Momentus Thin ST500LT012

I have an ASUS Q200E notebook and I have been trying tore-install Windows 8 from the USB flash drive unsuccessfully. Basically,Windows installer cannot 'see' the hard disk but gives the option for driversto be loaded. I have tried several drivers from ASUS downloads but noneworked.

NOTE: In UEFI, when I disable Fastboot, enable CSM and disable SecureBoot Control, I see the hard disk. However, when I insert theinstallation USB drive, I no longer see it.

I would really appreciate any help I can get, whether to point me to the correctdrivers or otherwise. Thanks.

How did you create the flash drive. I recommend using Rufus to create a UEFI/GPT setup flash drive.

How did you create the flash drive. I recommend using Rufus to create a UEFI/GPT setup flash drive.

And with Asus notebook with your Rufus created UEFI USB Install media in, hit the Esc Key on turning on the notebook this will bring up a boot menu where you should select the UEFI USB to boot from.

Many thanks for your responses! I did use Rufus to create the bootable USB with GPT for UEFI from a Windows.ISO file that I got from Microsoft's website at Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help. Also, in the BIOS I alternately set USB Legacy Boot configuration to Enabled, Disabled, Auto. However, I am still getting the same message from Windows Installer. 'We couldn’t find any drives. To getstorage driver, click load driver’. As I indicated before, I have triedall the drivers at the ASUS website to no avail.

Any additional suggestions would be much appreciated. At this point I am pretty much at sea. Thanks.

Try this once you get the install started hit the Shift + F10 you should get a command prompt
if you do type Diskpart
list disk: you should see your disks
Select Disk: Select the disk you want to install windows on
Clean
convert GPT
exit: then the installer should see your disk you want to install windows too. Continue installation

Thanks Clintgm. I have done as suggested and was only seeing my USB disk, no hard drive. However, at the point of 'load Driver', I removed my flash drive and inserted it in a different port and then I could see my flash drive as C:, an X: drive and the default folders in windows under 'This PC' i.e. Music, Documents etc. Please let me know if there is a way I cud move further from here. Thanks.

I've created bootable USB drives using the Windows 8.1 Media Creation Tool at Creating installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help

You might have more success if you try this approach? Also, ensure you are plugging your USB drive into an Intel USB port since sometimes thirs party interfaces can cause problems.
