If you want original factory specifications to restore to, obtain factory recovery disks from HP.
I bought same from Gateway for $20.
Used them several times now.
Much cheaper than a visit to the computer repair shop.
Use Macrium Reflect too to make system images.
With it, I suggest you get 2, 128 GB usb drives.
I keep 2 backups at a time.
Making a new one on the oldest usb.
My system is continually getting bigger.
I used to be able to make an image on a 32 GB usb.
Now I can't.
I had a 64 GB usb, which is still adequate. {Using High Compression for the image.}
But I found a good deal at Walmart on a 128 GB usb, so I bought it. {$32}
This way of doing things works good for me.
Also, use sfc /scannow often in admin cmd prompt.
& Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
if sfc shows errors & then sfc afterwards.
& reboot.
This may help too-
