You can download the Windows 8.1 installation media from Creating installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help and create an ISO file or bootable USB flash drive. You can store the ISO file on your HDD and mount it as a separate disk drive to extract files and you can also boot from the USB drive to repair Windows.

I use Macrium Reflect Free for backups and imaging disks in preference to Windows Backup.

There is also an app RECIMG to create a custom refresh image which may be of interest.

Your best bet would be to contact HP if there are specific files you need on the recovery media. I had problems with my new Dell laptop last year and Dell sent me a free USB stick containing the factory recovery environment.

These firms usually have a global help desk so ask them - you might even get a call centre in Pakistan! Best of luck!

Ok thanks. Making backup of "drive c" in which windows is installed in the harddisk's own separatly created partition for backup using windows own "system image backup" is a convenient way or not ? And can it restore my windows only to its backup state when there is some error in windows?

What you suggest should work - but I've never restored an image using Windows Backup. Why not use Macrium Reflect Free which most people think is much better? Its advisable to backup your C drive to another internal disk or an external hard drive in case your only single drive fails. I would split your single disc into 2 partitions - C for Windows & programs and D for user files. That way when you use an imaging program like Macrium Reflect, you will only be backing the operating system files from drive C ( and other recovery partitions) on the disc which results in a smaller backup file. You will also need to back up your user files on D by imaging the drive or simply copying your files to another drive.

If you want original factory specifications to restore to, obtain factory recovery disks from HP.
I bought same from Gateway for $20.
Used them several times now.
Much cheaper than a visit to the computer repair shop. :)

Use Macrium Reflect too to make system images.
With it, I suggest you get 2, 128 GB usb drives.
I keep 2 backups at a time.
Making a new one on the oldest usb.

My system is continually getting bigger.
I used to be able to make an image on a 32 GB usb.
Now I can't.
I had a 64 GB usb, which is still adequate. {Using High Compression for the image.}
But I found a good deal at Walmart on a 128 GB usb, so I bought it. {$32}

This way of doing things works good for me. :)

Also, use sfc /scannow often in admin cmd prompt.
& Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

if sfc shows errors & then sfc afterwards.
& reboot. :)

This may help too-

You boot the Macrium rescue disc you made and restore the backup image you created with Macrium.

Good tutorial here: Imaging with free Macrium
