I only used Macrium Reflect for the first time a few weeks ago. See my 'idiots guide' at 'Idiots Guide' to Transferring Windows from a HDD to a SSD and the guides on Macrium's web site.

Post 10 is also very good advice.

I expect you have a lot of reading to do now!

There are tutorials here on this forum--
Read them all & if still in doubt, post more questions. ---

Why - it doesn't take much space?

You boot the Macrium rescue disc you made and restore the backup image you created with Macrium.

Good tutorial here: Imaging with free Macrium

i want to create the back up of windows 8.1 before upgrading to windows 10 and then also wants to backup the windows 10 after upgrading .
Only one macrium reflect Rescue disk (windows P.E 5.0) will work to restore the windows 8.1 as well as 10 or not ?

The major update released for Windows 10 last week (build 1511) has been pulled - see Media Creation Tool goes back to build 10240! - Windows 10 Forums

I would wait a while before upgrading to W10 until the upgrade situation is clarified - that's what I'm doing since my W10 upgrade failed last week.
