Guys,

Can we dual boot same OS say windows 8.1 on a single PC.

[Note: Please don't get into why is it a necessity to do dual boot the same OS and other similar unusual queries, like alternatives such as VMware or virtualbox - assume that its a requirement ]

To detail, consider a laptop that came with preinstalled windows 8.1 with key embedded in BIOS (No serial Keys)

What I want is either -

A-Dual boot with
1. Pre-installed windows 8.1 that includes bloatware as one partition
2. Clean install windows .1 as another partition
[This will be using the same key embedded in BIOS - so will not require any serial key to enter it manually during registration/activation]

B-Dual boot with two Clean install windows 8.1 as two partition
[This will again be using the same key embedded in BIOS - so will not require any serial key to enter it manually during registration/activation]

As far as I have researched dual boot of same OS is possible with no issues,I am concerned over the key - I cannot go ahead until I am sure my key doesn't gets blocked, had anybody done anything like that previously?

If that is your concern - then maybe you are a little over-protective..

What i mean is do it make any changes,i heard it modifies some hashes everytime we reactivate the key,so if I dual boot with same OS and activate the same key embedded in BIOS it will create a mismatch for the first installation, what are your thoughts & did you do anything like that?
