When I received the "Upgrade to Windows 10 Home" in File Explorer, I hid it because I'm not ready or even certain I want to install "10". Just a few days ago I started getting pop-ups on my desk top re "10". The first one said "Your Free Windows 10 upgrade is ready! You're good to go. Schedule your free update". I've received a couple more but with slightly different verbiage. I've read where some people have had Windows 10 start downloading by itself, they didn't initiate the download, it just started. Is there a site on the computer that I can check to see if this is actually downloading? And, if it is, how do I stop it? I'm actually leaning more and more to not installing Windows 10. I'm satisfied with Windows 8.1 and actually I don't to much on my notebook.....just e-mails, pay bills, play games, read articles, and a few other easy things to do.
When I do make a decision not to install Windows 10, how to I permanently get rid of the reserve, GWX (or whatever the correct term is), the "upgrade to Windows 10 Home" that I've hidden and anything else that has to do with "10".
Thank you.
