Need help installing windows 8 from 32 bit win xp.

Hello, I have recently built a new computer, and before anyone asks, yes it is compatible with 64 bit operating systems. I had already possessed a copy of 32 bit windows xp, so I have installed that. I then proceeded to download an iso file of windows 8 64 bit. When I extracted the files however, I was surprised to find out that you are not able to run a 64 bit installation file on a 32 bit operating system. I am fully aware of how to create a bootable dvd or usb as a method of installation, yet at the moment I am out of dvd's and usable flashdrives. I am wondering if it is possible to boot from the iso file while it is still on your hard drive? If not, is there any other way to install it given my available materials (hard drive, and a laptop running Win 8.1)? Thanks for the help.

How to download and clean install Windows 8.1 -> link

Note: This Windows 8.1 installation media accepts Windows 8/8.1 product keys, both OEM and retail (for example, "Windows 8 Pro $15/$40 Upgrade Offer" product key).

Not to change from a 32 bit to a 64 bit OS, no. You need a DVD or flash drive.

You also can not upgrade XP to windows 8.1 - a clean install is required in your case..
And that requires Bootable setup media..
You can bypass installing windows 8 - just install windows 8.1 and use your windows 8 key to activate windows 8.1
You can download windows 8.1 setup media > Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help
The activation will accept windows 8 or 8.1 product keys

Just so you know ... MS has historically provided the ability to do an in-place upgrade (one in which settings and apps are carried over to the new OS version) only between one Windows version and the next. You could "upgrade" from XP to Vista, and from Vista to Win7. But, you can not "upgrade" from XP to anything newer than Vista. That is why you have to do a clean install of Win8.1 and reinstall all the apps you want to continue using.

Also understand that Microsoft has never supported upgrading from a 32 bit to a 64 bit OS. Here too a clean install is necessary. The similar user interface tends to hide the fact that internally 32 bit and 64 bit systems are very different.
