I give up on this computer

My gateway computer is stuck at the screen where it says "Windows could not complete installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation." So I proceed to restart and the same message comes up again. Any ideas on what I can do? My version (if that's what it's called) is NE56R41u

Are you installing from a disk or USB stick? I have had this happen to me when I setup my computer to boot first from the USB drive then forgot to remove USB when installation did its first reboot, which then started the installation over again from the beginning.

What are you installing, Windows 8 or 8.1, 32 or 64 bit?
That computer came with Windows 7 so you must be upgrading to Windows 8 or 8.1.
