I have a Dell laptop.

I would like to reinstall Windows 8.1 on it because of the BSODs. It came with Windows 8.1 Single Language.

How can I reinstall Windows without losing the genuinity of it?
Can I get the original product key from the laptop as well as the Windows 8.1 official Single Language ISO and input the product key during installation or is there some other way?

you can download a create windows 8.1 setup media > Create installation media for Windows 8.1 - Windows Help
just select the SL version since that is what you say it came with, the setup media will read the embedded OEM key and will not ask you to input one..

If you get asked to input a key - it is because your dell did not come with SL version and most likely is just windows 8.1

Well in My Computer Properties it says that it's Windows 8.1 Single Language so I guess that will be it.
So during installation it will not ask me for an OEM key?

I have a question, I have 4 same laptops. I am reinstalling Windows on one right now so when I will use this tool will the product key get embedded in the ISO? Or will I have to input it?

If I want to reinstall Windows ever again on the other laptops, will I have to use the Media Creation tool on that laptop too and get a new ISO made with that product key inputted?

the setup media reads the embedded key from the pc's firmware - you can use that setup media on any or all the PC's that have the SL OS

if you have windows 8.1 (home / core / std ) pc's you will need to use standard setup media

if you have Pro pc's you will need to use the Pro setup media

But it will read while making the ISO. After that during installation the key will not be asked.

So if I use that ISO on other laptops then the laptop from which I made the ISO, its key will used.

no - everybody downloads the same exact setup media.. 1 or a million does not matter..

the key it uses is the key "YOU" provide - and with an OEM system the Key is embedded in the firmware and the setup media imports that key into the OS for you..

anybody can download the setup media as the media does not require a key to download, nor does it save the firmware key.

Do you mean to say that the key will get read from the UEFI partition?

The key gets read during the install. It's not coded into the ISO. If they are all 8.1 SL you can use that one install media on all of them. The key will be read during the install and Windows will activate with it automatically. Each PC will be activated with its own factory product code. That install media will read and use Windows 8.0 keys 8.1 keys and OEM embedded keys. You just have to install the proper matching version. For example, If you download and try to install Pro on a PC that didn't come with Pro, you'll be prompted for a key and it will only accept a Pro key.
