Upgrade Windows 8.1 Core to Pro, without reinstall?

    Hello Eight Forums members,

I currently have Windows 8.1 Core installed on my PC. I am interested in upgrading to Windows 8.1 Pro however, but I do not want to lose/re-install programs, or have to jump through hoops to run it.

Is there a way to do this without having to install Windows all over again?

    Thanks,
    Michael.

Yeah +1... Probably cheaper to buy an 8.1 Pro OEM license from newegg or something and do an upgrade install... That should work, shouldn't it?

I think if you use the add features pro will just be turned on. there are only a few different features I think they are just turned off in the core version. I don't think it will be an install just turning on features!

KYHI, would the above work if you bought an OEM license from newegg or something like that and then used that key in Add features?

I am pretty sure you can get Pro oem license and media from softicle $60 as I recall. They used to provide public access to their repository, which they no longer do. However, they are still able to provide licensing if you contact them Softicle

I have everything I need to install Windows 8.1 Pro over Windows 8.1 Core; however, I don't see a tutorial on doing this, so I'm, wondering if I'll get into trouble doing this. BTW, I know I cannot use my Windows 8 Core Product Key with Windows 8.1 Pro. :) I'd like to do a clean install, but...
Hi guys. I've been looking at 2 laptops, they are basically identical but one has an Intel Core i3-4005U mobile processor and 4GB of RAM, and the other one has an AMD A4-5000 mobile processor and 6GB RAM. I Thought I read somewhere that the upgrade from Win 7 to Win 8 would not require you to reinstall all your programs. That doesn't sound like the normal course of events but it would be very nice if true. I'd be happy if that were just true for upgrading from the Win 8 Release Preview since that is...
