Well if your USB is not showing up as a bootable devise something must have happen to the boot records on the device? You stated that it has worked and booted in the past so the device would be suspect. I would replace the USB device or at least format and set up your USB to boot again.

usb is working fine and created windwos 7 bootable with windows usb dvd tool just before posting the problem here.
when I install windows 8 pro 64 bits, I m facing problem of black screen on restart. someone told me (on this forum) that updading bios could solve the problem, and it is.
is the update bios cause the problem.? I see anothre topic about UEFI and Lagacy bootable usb created by rufus. do I follow the steps of this topic,?

Are you working with windows 7 or windows 8 setup media ?
Are you getting a "Windows" logo or an "OEM" logo when booting a pc?
Have you tried using a different USB port in that pc?
Have you tried using DVD ?
Does that PC support x64 software ?

Just to be sure - you see a windows logo - when booting usb? or your windows 8 laptop?

PC came with windows 8 ?

When booting either media or PC - if you see a "windows" logo the PC is booting in legacy Mode.. If you see an "OEM" logo it is booting in UEFI mode..
