Hello,
I recently did a repair on my OS 8.1. After this, windows folders such as Program files and Users were moved to windows.old. Now I'm experiencing a lot of issues. For example, when trying to customize the Ribbon in Excel by adding Developer (to start using VBA), I get the following message: "The server drafts location you entered for offline editing is not valid or you do not have permission to access that location. Please specify a location on your local computer". And when I try to change the folder path in Options->Save, the path does not get remembered and I can't customize my ribbon. I have tried basically all advice I've come across through Google with no luck. I'm thinking about re-installing windows if I can't solve this.
Questions:
1. Can the paths that window uses have been messed up after the repair? If so, is there an easy fix?
2. Can I in a simple way restore or use the files stored in windows.old?
