    why USB is important ? I just need a windows vista dvd and install vista on E partition and BOOOOOM there you have it dual boot

    I chose windows vista because it reminds me of my grandfather I remember when im 9 yrs old NNNNNNNNNNN KASPERSKY ERROR SOUUUUND

    so you got it all set? vista on the 40GB partition and the option to boot either OS??

    enus - I edited my post from before, instead of doing the bit with the USB you can just run WinNT setup within your current 8.1 OS to automatically apply the Vista OS to the 2nd partition. Hope that helps.

    what does that mean?

    Mount installation drive letter as ( C: ) . . . ???

    WinNTsetup x64 is what you should use if your HostOS is 64 bit
    WinNT finds your default boot partition and assigns a drive letter z - you will have 3 green checks (either gpt or mbr)

    if you check Pre-assign drive letter - you can tell it what drive letter (A B C D ) to assign "Mount installation drive as "
    if you do not check pre-assign drive letter - windows will assign the drive letter for you

    select your wim or (right click) to select iso
    boot drive should have 3 Green
    select installation location Partition Drive
