    UEFI System

I have new laptop and am considering installing Windows 10. I see it has a uefi system partition on the harddrive. I read that if you delete it the system won't boot.

Can you create a new uefi partition if you do?

Wil the uefi partition cause any issues installing Windows 10?

    Thanks,

If you are clean installing windows 10, it is recommended to delete all partitions and let Windows create the desired partitions. So yes, if you delete the UEFI partition, and are clean installing windows 10 then it will recreate it automatically. If you are doing an upgrade install (in place upgrade) then leave it intact.

I'd recommend installing as a Virtual Machine under Oracle VirtualBox of VMWare. Speed is close to native install and lets you use botht hte existing Windows 8.1 and 10.

Wait to upgrade to 10 until it's been released.

Windows being still in a beta - Virtual Machine - is the only way to go.. There have been some major setbacks with some of the Win10 update releases..
