installation nt proceeding due to laptop not shown battery chargn sign

My laptop has an issue that if I charge my laptop it starts charging but it does not show a charging icon in the windows..!

When I'm installing windows 8 the setup stops before even starting and shows error asking me to plug in my charger n start charging even if my charger is already attached and switched on... (Maybe due to charging icon not showing)

    Any solutions??

Install power management driver from manufacturer. Install latest bios is good too.

There is no help from the website related to power management.
Also when i start installing the bios update the installer asks for putting the laptop to AC power when my laptop is already connected to the charger (the same problem which i was facing during windows 8 installation)
Hence, because of this problem i'm also unable to install a newer version of BIOS too...
    What to do?

If it's a Toshiba, install the latest Value Added Package.

Which make and model do you have?

Hi. I don't know if this is really something that can be labelled "general support", but I am looking for a laptop with around 4-6 hours of battery, and one that is thin, not bulky (the laptop, not the battery). Does anyone know of good brands to look for that have good batteries, and if they're...
