Hi there,

I have fresh windows 8.1 pro installed into my Laptop. Finally I managed to install all necessary drivers, programs, wallpapers , start icons etc.

My question is if there is any software which I can use to do backup so next time when I will install fresh windows again I will just use backup files, so I won't need to install all programs, manage settings again and again.

I hope it's easy understandable.

Regards

Yeah right, imaging is the way to go. Here is a Macrium tutorial.

Imaging with free Macrium - Windows 7 Help Forums

You can also make an image with an elevated command prompt. The command is:

wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:X: -include:C: -AllCritical -quiet

You have to replace "X" with the volume letter of your backup device.

For recovery, you need a recovery USB flash drive. To create one, you go to the Recovery Media Creator - type recovery on the start screen and "Create a Recovery Drive" will show up. Check the size of your recovery partition for the size flash drive you need.

For recovery you boot from that flash drive and you drill down this chain:

• Language setting
• Troubleshoot
• Advanced Options
• System Image Recovery
