Can you install windows using the Laptop's SD card reader?

    Hello,
Can I create a Windows installation image and put it on an SD card and then using the laptop's built in SD card reader to install Windows from there if ever needed?
    Thanks

Don't think so... I have never seen a bootable card reader before.

Why not just create a bootable flash drive? Just as convenient

It's possible, but not very convenient... It's a long process. It's easier to use Rufus and a pendrive.

It depends on your model. I have a lenovo also (x201 - don't know what your model is) and I can boot from card reader. I keep a recovery image on an old 512MB SD card in it just in case. It is pretty convenient as I can't forget it and don't have any other use for the card reader.

If you can boot from it, you can use it to install any OS.
