    Upgrade to windows 8.1

So i have a windows 98 PC with 64 mb ram. Is it possible to upgrade the ram and to get windows 8.1 to run on it?

If you want windows 8 you will need to upgrade the ram- 4gb is a nice amount for windows 8 to run fairly quick, but I prefer 8gb+.
    But yes it is possible.
Just one thing I want you to check, is it ddr1, ddr2 or ddr3 RAM?

While windows 8 CAN run on older hardware, I very much don't recommend it. They don't make drivers for new OSes on old hardware, so you may find that your computer crashes a lot, or is very slow, etc. I myself have had nothing but trouble in similar situations. You don't need the most powerful hardware out there, but you might be able to locate some nice stuff, especially if you build it yourself. You've already got a case and possibly hard drive. You just need RAM, CPU, and motherboard... possibly power supply. But this is just my opinion, and remember, Windows 8 CAN work.

If it's a processor from W98 era, I don't think 8/8.1 will work on them.

Ah, good question, I'm not sure now that you mention it? I may have goofed up, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
