If it's a processor from W98 era, I don't think 8/8.1 will work on them.
Does it work on 98 ?If it's a processor from W98 era, I don't think 8/8.1 will work on them.
That's why I posted the link to the upgrade advisor.

ME was just a stopgap to 2000/XP, most notable feature was "System Restore" that made it's debut. Many were complaining about ME but worked just fine for me. Probably shortest living windows ever.Windows 98 ??? I had forgot they had 98 until this thread.. Kind a like windows ME
now your bringing back old memories..
Win 95 I have in original packaging, waited in Toronto for it to start selling til 2AM. There was also 97, 97 SE after it, those I did as upgrades but i think I still have .iso from them. Also have DOS 5. something diskettes as well as 3.11 on them and all are converted to ISO files too. Keeping "Free DOS" and Dr DOS too. Also have Atari 520ST with bunch of diskettes for it but haven't used it long time.I've still got my Windows 95 and 98 CD's stored away somewhere. I've thought about throwing them out a couple of times but just couldn't do it.
I think I can open SW museum, got some tapes for Comodore 64 in the attic, forgot about those.lol, at one time I had Windows 3.11 on floppies and Windows 95 on floppies. That stuff I did manage to throw out.
