Solved Can't install Windows in location you chose. Please check.

So I'm getting the error "We couldn't install Windows in the location you chose. Please check your media drive. Here's more info about what happened: 0x80300024"

I've installed WIndows 8.1 many times on various machines but always from DVD. This is my first attempt from USB key.

My BIOS is UEFI mode and the SSD I'm trying to install to is GPT, so I really don't know what the problem is... already tried the whole list disk stuff and I can confirm my C drive (disk 1) is * as GPT.

Can someone please help?

Ok, based on other posts, I have to disconnect the other drive... i hope this is accurate. The screws on my laptop are in bad shape!

WOW!!! What a stupid issue....opening up my laptop was a royal pain but its true that disconnecting the 2nd HDD solves this problem.
