Hello everyone. So to start off, my idea and solution to a problem i previously had (Viper4Windows cant play on Windows 8.1), i thought about why not Dual Booting Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. Windows 7 works fine with Viper4Windows, and having a Dual Boot is sometimes good to have. I also got a new Motherboard today, wich did some changes to the way my PC now boots and reads HDDs/SSDs. Now all my drives and partitions are read as GPT, not MBR (so i had to painfully reinstall Windows 8.1 to). However here comes already my problem: I got my Windows 7 ISO file, and i used Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. But the thing is, as i did that with the Windows 8.1 ISO it worked just fine, however as i tried doing the same (installing the ISO over to the USB Drive), the Program said "Files successfully copied. However, you will not be able to boot because of bootsect. More info about this on "bootsect"....). I expect this to be something with the new GPT thing, because i did this before and i could do it just fine on my old motherboard, however as i now tried it on this new motherboard (again, my guess the GPT), i cannot boot that Windows 7 USB Drive anymore cause of that "bootsect" error. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

1: Viper4Windows for better sound quality and bass regulations and that.

Also just to notice you, i did try to do this on another PC, the same process, put the Windows 7 ISO onto the USB with Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool, but to no use. As i tried booting the USB, the screen quickly flashed and returned to the boot device screen. Anyone here who has another solution?

Yes you'll need to download a 64bit version of win 7 and use Rufus to insure you boot the win 7 installer UEFI I think there is a tutorial on the seven forum click the link I think there is a tutorial on here how to dual boot win 7 and win 8, personally I install 7 first then 8 but 8 will be the primary boot but you'll be able to boot 7 easily. If you install 8 first you'll be stuck with the win 7 dual boot screen. Just search the tutorials

It wasn't really necessary to do that. Windows 7 SP1 will install fine in UEFI mode.

But Microsoft did throw in some hurdles. As was mentioned, Rufus can be used but the USB has to be formatted as FAT32. After you copy over the files from the mounted .iso, you will also need to add a folder and a file in that folder for Windows 7 to boot using UEFI, or burn the .iso image to DVD.

The tutorial on the site goes in to how to do all of this. Sorry I don't have a link.

The bootsect situation only happens with the Microsoft utility so using Rufus or just setting the USB drive yourself from the tutorial will not create such a problem.
