also seeing how windows 10 will be a free upgrade im positive that when the final ver comes out we will get a smooth update to final version without reinstalling (i hope)
Sounds like you're likely to do the upgrade, whatever comments you get here.

But it would be wise to heed the advice of experienced people and make sure you have back-ups etc. just in case.

No-one knows exactly what MS will decide to do when they release Windows 10, but almost everyone has an opinion, many of which will be wrong. If you choose to believe that you will be able to upgrade smoothly from whatever Windows 10 preview state you are in when the final product is released, that's your prerogative.

And if you decide to go for it without sensible fall-back plans and it all goes wrong, you will still be able to get support from the wise people on here, they are very understanding of impetuous youth

i just did the unthinkable... i upgraded my primary hdd to windows 10...AND I LOVE IT! i dont regret it one bit! and the app crashes and freezes i was getting on windows 8.1 are seemly gone! its Stable and fast and its only a beta! once you get used to the new shortcuts it makes windows a lot better of a place!
also it took my windows 8.1 key and is activated so i dont think ill have to worry about a lockout

    see you on tenforums!

    You WILL -- just wait.

MS makes MAJOR changes to Win10 each build and a new one is supposed to be coming out this week. The more you like the way things are in Win10 right now, the more you're going to be disappointed when MS removes one or more of those features and replaces them with something you don't like. Every build, folks are posting ways to restore old functionality that MS has removed in recent builds.

Case in point -- their new "start menu". I really liked the old one, even though it was a hybrid between the desktop and tiles interfaces. Then, they went and changed it in the recent built to be metro-only. Not long after, folks posted workarounds to get the old start menu back -- which is what I'm using now. And, with this last build, they moved Windows Update out of Control Panel and into Settings -- something lots of folks don't like.

Win10 is still very much "work in progress"; replacing a stable, working OS with it is asking for trouble down the line.

RIGHT ... they haven't put out a new build yet and removed some of the things you "love". Just wait ... and see.

Something like that happened to W95, I had beta running for long time and when full version came out most of tools were missing because of Norton.

I don't regret upgrading either. I immediately upgraded 8.1 to 10 in October and have upgraded through all subsequent builds. I will upgrade again this week and fully expect to upgrade to RTM when the time comes https://twitter.com/GabeAul/status/540579810880147457
