Can Windows 8/8.1 run on my Old PC?

Hii,, I want to upgrade my PC from Windows XP to Windows 8/8.1, this is my spec:
- Mainboard : Asrock P4i45GV R.5.0
- Processor : 2.66GHz
- RAM : 1GB
- VGA : NVDIA GeForce MX4000 128MB
-HDD : 80GB
When I try upgrade to Windows 7, it's fine, but some driver doesn't support on this OS, that's my VGA doesn't support.
Then, I Rollback to XP.
I have a Windows 8 disc, I try to upgrade, this setup works fine, but I canceled this setup, because it's a same problem when I try upgrade to Windows 7.
This is my pc spec working fine on Windows 8 ? Thanks for ask.

do not install windows 8 on a pc with 1gb ram and 80gb of hard drive space.

there is nothing else to tell you.

As already pointed out with the ram etc, the motherboard is definately a no no - not even supported by Win 7.
ASRock > P4i45GV R5.0

Time to get a new PC as you got many years from this one. That motherboard is 11 years old...

Im running win 8.1 on a foxconn motherboard 946GZ chipset, intel dual pentium 2 ghz, 4 gb ram and 20 gb of disk. Runs just fine

depends on what you want to use it for ,I have a 8year old dell laptop 2gig ram and 1.8ghz duel centrino cpu ,it uses default windows drive for video and is missing at 2 other drives for unknown device ,but for surfing the net ,watching and listening to youtube music videos it works just fine for that .it has win10 preview on it right now ,

maybe a better choice would be win Vista, snicker
