After RESET, Boot priority still messed up in BIOS

Strange issue. Trying to fix a boot-up issue. After a good cleaning, the Dell Laptop would still boot up to DELL logo 60% of the time. Checked boot priority in System Setup and #1 was set to Windows Boot Manager. Changed the order to OS, and it booted. After sitting for a while, the DELL logo would appear again, no waking it, hard reset, checked the settings, and Windows Boot Manager was back to #1.

After messing with it, did a RESET. Same issue is happening. DELL logo stuck at loading. Keep having to change boot order to get it to boot. Yes, I save options before exiting. Restored default settings in bios. hmmmmm. Do a clean install?? And what is the correct boot order anyway?

You should also go into BIOS > set defaults > save and exit.. There is no need to be changing anything in there...

Download your factory dell drivers and Download Windows 8.1 (link in sig below)

Hit F12 when first Dell logo appears and the choose the setup media drive as your boot drive USB or DVD

Was going to do a clean install and found that it would not boot to a cd, even with changing the boot order in bios. after more research, I learned that the Secure Boot needed to be disabled to boot to a cd (or that it could prevent it). After disabling, EVERYTHING started working fine. RESET is picking up where it left off now. Booted 7 times now and updating with no bootup stalls. Go figure.
