I am looking to perform a clean reinstall on a PC that I built 4 years ago.

Original OS was Windows Vista. I upgraded to Win 8 when it came out by digital download. Has also been upgraded to Win 8.1 in the last few months.

Performed clean install of Win 8 on new SSD drive (C) but kept Win Vista on original Drive now (D) so I could dual boot.

I have OEM Vista CD. I have no clue about any info from where I bought and downloaded Win 8(was when it was released and was a cheap upgrade). (Would Microsoft have information, is it needed?)
-------

I would like to to do a clean install of Win 8.1 on the SSD drive (C) and get rid of the dual boot of Vista (D). I have backed up everything but would like to leave my (E) hard drive as is with pictures/movies.
-------
How do I perform clean install of Win 8.1 on (C) while reformatting (D) and getting rid of Dual boot option plus associated files, but not touch (E).

Thank you in advance.

first you need to aquire your retail key - "Magic Jellybean" seems to find it..

download windows 8.1 media and the drivers for you pc from the oem(s) websites

boot to the setup disk - once you get the the disk partition screen -

remove every partition on your C and D drive

select the D drive and select New and format..

Then select C to install windows to and allow setup to create the partitions it needs on the unalocatted space of C

follow the prompts and then install your oem drivers
