If you don't have a backup image you can't - see Download Windows Technical Preview ISO - Microsoft Windows

  • After you install Windows Technical Preview, you won’t be able to use the recovery partition on your PC to go back to your previous version of Windows.
You'll need to order your manufacturers install disks if you haven't got them or any backups. Then backup your data and re-install.

btw, Ten Preview is freely available - no need to use a torrent.

I believe that as long as you have the factory recovery image partition - there is a way..

ok now from a windows 10 - command prompt admin -

type diskpart
select disk 0 (zero)
list volume

there is a partition that is hidden that has your factory image most likely the last one and it does not have a drive letter assigned to it

select volume #
* would be the volume number without a drive letter
assign letter=r

and so on s ,t u, v
using those two commands

now open file explorer to view the exposed partition contents - you are looking for install.wim or install*.swm(s)

now locate on your win10 C drive for a "recovery" folder
rename the install.wim to install.wim.old for that folder
copy the swm(s) or wim from your recovery partition to that recovery folder

run push button reset

if that don't work we may need to edit reagent.xml with notepad to remove version information

Hi i just did a fresh win 8 reinstall, i wanted to have a look at the win 10 preview i downloaded from microsoft. Does it support win to go so i can run it live from a usb or does it have to be installed being a preview copy. I already have win 7 and linux on usb to run live going to try win 8 after i finish setting up my pc. Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet cause my laptop wont run win 10 i think need to look at the min requirments ( i use that to try stuff out so not to brick my main pc).

The Windows 10 TP consumer version has to be installed, and be warned -- if you do that over the top of Win8, you will not be able to "rollback" to Win8 later. If you want to upgrade Win8 to Win10 TP, then make an image of your Win8 to an external drive or USB stick. That will give you something to restore from later.

Windows 10 Enterprise supports making a Windows to Go drive but you have to install it and then make the drive.

I personally wouldn't run it as my only OS. My recommendation is to Load it up on a spare PC or dual boot. Keep in mind that if you dual boot it most likely will break your factory recovery options for Windows 8. I installed it on my laptop and was unimpressed. I then went back to 8.1 on that PC. YMMV though.
