This is not possible, Keys are tied to the Version of windows they are designed for, In addition they are tied to the sub-version, (Home, Pro, Etc)

oh and my laptop came with a 20GB SSD for caching.... do you have any idea on how can i use that after doing a clean install of windows 8... or can i just move the win 8 startup files and programs and updates on the ssd and keep everything else on the HDD... much like caching...

This would appear to be one of the Hybrid conventional / SSD drives Hybrid drive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If this is the case then the drive is used as a conventional drive and uses the SSD portion to improve general performance, The SSD portion is not accessible directly by the user

actually the laptop is an acer aspire s3-951 ultrabook which doesn't have a SSHD but uses a separate ssd for caching the HDD

In that case it may be possible, although I would think that a 20GB SSD would not be really of sufficient size to run either Win7 or Win8/8.1 without a lot of specialist modification - I find that a 120GB is the practical minimum size for an OS - On recent builds I have started to use 240GB drives (or partitions) for the OS, due to the general increase in application disk requirements and of course the recent fall in price of Disk space.

If the SSD drive is a standard package then it would normally be a quite simple task to fit a replacement SSD which would show a considerable performance boost

In that case the only option you could consider would be to upgrade the Main HDD to the best available, There are higher capacity SSD devices becoming available all the time but prices for these are still pretty high

This should still work with any "new" drive fitted, so dependent on what spec HDD is currently fitted and what it is replaced with you could see some improvement - If you did consider an SSD as a replacement you would need to check on the manufacturer's site as to what would be compatible, It's quite possible that a current SSD would be better than the existing cache device and might be "throttled" by the existing set-up, so not practical in real terms
