Hi, the last couple of days i m getting a windows update message saying that Windows 8.1 was ready to install and the computer was going to restart in 2,3,4 or later to complete the installation. It stated that the computer would restart 3 or 4 times and I wouldn't be able to use it for 30 -45 minutes. I chose later everytime to avoid the installation, but i think it s time to upgrade to w8.1 and i want your help to do it right.
Till now i didn t upgrade to w8.1 cuz i heard that some laptops had driver issues when they upgrade from w8 to w8.1 and some times, they keep rebooting after installed w8.1, so i decided to wait some time till microsoft solved all the issues and i could upgrade without any problem.
I went to windows compatibility center, downloaded the program to check compatibility for windows 8.1 in my laptop and i got that almost all my programs and drivers will work in windows 8.1, except for :
Ralink Bluetooth PCle adapter
So i want to know what should i do,i heard that i can uninstall this driver and then upgrade to windows 8.1, so after the installation finished, i can look for a driver that work for my device in windows 8.1.
Another option is only disable this service before the upgrade to w8.1 and later enable it and search for a proper driver.
Should i make a restoration point before the upgrade or it won t matter at all ? Also should i be concern for any other driver or only for the ones that the compatibility program showed me as issues?
If something goes wrong my only option is to reinstall windows 8 or i have other options??
My laptop is a HP pavilion 14-e014la notebook PC, in the HP website i found this page with drivers that will work for my laptop if i upgrade to windows 8.1 :
Software & driver downloads HP Pavilion 14-e014la Notebook PC | HP® Support
Also anybody knows the proper driver for my laptop that could work in windows 8.1 or got a similar issue before migrate to windows 8.1?
If you need more info about my laptop just let me know, i ll reply asap. Hope you can help me passing through this process quick and safe as possible.
Thx in advance for your help.
