Migrate W8.1 to new (larger) SSD

Hi

I've ordered a new larger-sized SSD which should arrive in the next day or so (going from 240MB to 512MB).

I have a WindowsImageBackup on my NAS, which I believe I made not long after a clean install of 8 and the upgrade to 8.1, installing key software I use, etc. about a year or so ago. It's 88GB.

I have a Windows 8 Pro ISO burned to a DVD and have the product key to hand.

Will it be as simple as installing the new SSD, booting my DVD, and then doing a restore of the WIB from my NAS? If so, will the restore be able to view my NAS at that stage in the proceedings?

I also have a Plan B forming in my head, which is keep my current SSD as a second installed drive. In which case, could I copy the WIB to that SSD and point the restore to that?

TIA

You have lost me. NAS "Network Attached Storage" if your moving your computer OS wouldn't you pick up your NAS as soon as you set up your network. on a clean install.
If you clone your OS drive to the new SSD 512 using Reflect or Acronis or any other cloning software that it should expand into the extra space. Of course then there would be no changes to your Network as your system would not know that you have put in a larger SSD as it is exactly the same with more space nothing has changed?

Sorry, I meant to say that I wanted to do a clean install at the same time, so was wondering if the boot DVD would pick up the existence of my NAS at that point, to avoid me having to do a clean install before restoring the WIB.

Indeed, that is an option if I didn't want to do a clean install.

Many thanks for the reply
