Well, the simple fix is to use an external mouse and forget the touch pad. Many people do this even if the touch pad works.

I've been doing that but being in a college lecture hall with no place to put the mouse makes it extremely frustrating. Besides the fact I shouldn't have to do that anyway if this thing was designed right in the first place.

Well it was working flawlessly for about a week or two and now it started acting up again. I booted it up and noticed that the trackpad icon was not in the notification area, then it appeared, but it still acted odd. I'm going to keep an eye on event viewer.

Hi, I have two laptops made by the same manufacturer and same year, but one is a dual core laptop with an SSD harddrive and the other is a quad core laptop with a regular hard drive. Both laptops run Windows 8. I would like to transfer my programs and files from the dual core to the quad core....
Hi everyone, quick intro.. I own a small company which recycles IT equipment. Mostly we dismantle laptops and sell the individual parts but occasionally we get something in that's a little too good to cannibalise. This week we got a nice Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook and all it needed was a hard...
Hi guys. I've been looking at 2 laptops, they are basically identical but one has an Intel Core i3-4005U mobile processor and 4GB of RAM, and the other one has an AMD A4-5000 mobile processor and 6GB RAM. The guy at the store and a couple other people I know told me that the Core i3 is better than...
Hey guys, I have been trying to figure out how I can go about installing 8.1 on a blank hdd using my embedded product key. I hate using the manufacturer recovery because there is a slew of bloatware that I need to get rid of. If anybody could help I would appreciate it.
I'm currently using Win 7-64bit, 2X2GB, 180GB SSD, AMD 945 quad core, 880G motherboard. Think of getting the Win 8 upgrade, new 4 (4170) or 6 core AMD cpu, 970 motherboard. Would Win 8 make it worth it to get a 6 core cpu, or should I just get a faster 4 core processor (4170)?
I have installed windows 8 x64 consumer preview. Under the task manager performance, Im only seeing one cpu graph, and it reports one physical processor and two `logical` processors. Also under device manager, when I get the properties for `Computer` it says acpi x64 based pc, I think older...
Title says it all. Before I installed Hyper-V, Windows shows all 8 threads. . . After, only 1, and VMs were definately sluggish. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it? This Windows 8 pre-release would otherwise be perfect for me as it's the only way I can have Hyper-V AND my internal...
