What doesn't work on your touchpad? My touchpad on my ASUS laptop partially works with the stock drivers. I can move the cursor and open programs but there is no scroll function. I have to install the Smart Gesture Utility to get full functionality out of it.

Sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes it has full functionality but it literally acts like it's being retarded by something. It takes about two seconds for it to register my finger and moves around very non precise and doesn't register touches that well. Like i said it worked fine with Windows 8.

OK, just wanted a bit more info, thanks. You may have to uninstall all drivers for the touchpad and start over. Where did you get the ISO from? Are you sure it hasn't been modified or tampered with? With the other issues you've had, maybe you have a corrupted install? What went wrong with the previous install? Maybe you have a hardware issue?

It was a problem with the previous install as well. I'm led to believe it is a software problem because it was working perfect in Windows 8 minus multi touch support. I'm positive the iso is a clean iso.

Also, my touch screen doesn't work.

I just installed that driver that was suggested and I'm playing with the mood pad and it takes a good second or two to catch up with the input on the mood pad to my finger placement. Could it be a bios problem? Maybe it's not communicating with the OS properly? The only thing is it worked well in Windows 8.

Well, all I can tell you is, the one time I did that, I had issues with my WIFI, keyboard and track pad. I reinstalled drivers etc but couldn't sort it out. One second my keyboard and track pad worked, then it would quit again, over and over. WIFI did the same thing, it just kept cutting in and out. No such issues when I did a clean install of 8.1 on the same hardware. Wish I could be more help. It's been my experience that upgrade installs often have issues.

Hi, I have two laptops made by the same manufacturer and same year, but one is a dual core laptop with an SSD harddrive and the other is a quad core laptop with a regular hard drive. Both laptops run Windows 8. I would like to transfer my programs and files from the dual core to the quad core....
Hi everyone, quick intro.. I own a small company which recycles IT equipment. Mostly we dismantle laptops and sell the individual parts but occasionally we get something in that's a little too good to cannibalise. This week we got a nice Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook and all it needed was a hard...
Hi guys. I've been looking at 2 laptops, they are basically identical but one has an Intel Core i3-4005U mobile processor and 4GB of RAM, and the other one has an AMD A4-5000 mobile processor and 6GB RAM. The guy at the store and a couple other people I know told me that the Core i3 is better than...
Hey guys, I have been trying to figure out how I can go about installing 8.1 on a blank hdd using my embedded product key. I hate using the manufacturer recovery because there is a slew of bloatware that I need to get rid of. If anybody could help I would appreciate it.
I'm currently using Win 7-64bit, 2X2GB, 180GB SSD, AMD 945 quad core, 880G motherboard. Think of getting the Win 8 upgrade, new 4 (4170) or 6 core AMD cpu, 970 motherboard. Would Win 8 make it worth it to get a 6 core cpu, or should I just get a faster 4 core processor (4170)?
I have installed windows 8 x64 consumer preview. Under the task manager performance, Im only seeing one cpu graph, and it reports one physical processor and two `logical` processors. Also under device manager, when I get the properties for `Computer` it says acpi x64 based pc, I think older...
Title says it all. Before I installed Hyper-V, Windows shows all 8 threads. . . After, only 1, and VMs were definately sluggish. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
