Hello Everyone,

I'm here with a serious problem, i have a Laptop Asus X55M1 with windows 8.1 but i hate win8 and i want to install win7. I've tried everything and i can't format it.

I have a USB Bootable Flash Drive (Pen) with win7 32 and 64 bits, i use it to format every computers and always worked. Now when i put the flash drive in the Laptop and go to Boot Priority and select the Flash Drive, its supposed to appear the win7 stuff but instead show win8 logo and keep running. Instead of a Flash Drive i got a DVD with win7 and in boot priority don't show annything about cd/dvd.

So i had to look some tutorials about that problem and i found some interesting post like creating a UEFI Bootable USB flash drive. But now he load the files and when is going to appear the win7 logo he glitch and on the top shows a red line. I download alots of Win7 64 bits and keep showing the same.

Quote from this post:

If you have an OEM PC that came with Windows 8 64-bit preinstalled and you want to install Windows 7 64-bit, then you must disable Secure Boot, because Secure Boot is not compatible with Windows 7. But if Windows 7 installation does not succeed in UEFI Boot Mode, try installing Windows 7 in Legacy BIOS Boot Mode, but then you will need to delete all partitions.

Here is a link on the seven forum that deals with installing win 7 UEFI

I would look on the Asus Support Download for drivers for win 7 most win 8 divers will work there have been issues with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi I would insure that you have drivers that will work for your notebook and win 7 before you start. As mentioned by @genet you will have to turn off secure boot and turn on CSM

I agree with all you say although BIOS wouldn't matter much. And we do not recommend using WinFlash. it is much safer to your EZFlash from within the BIOS. There have been many many Bricked Asus Notebooks from using WinFlash, Interesting that you have the selection in the BIOS for an Operating System. I have never seen this, But maybe Asus has finally realized that some of there owner do want to run Win 7 this setting would probably make the transition back to 7 easier.
