Cannot change UEFI settings / UEFI stuck in read only mode

I need to change some setting in my UEFI/BIOS but it is stuck in ready only mode.
All options are blanked out except for "exit". How can I get it to let me edit the settings again?

You may have to disable the "Secure Boot" option first.

Secure boot is disabled already. I couldnt disable or re-enable it if I wanted to though. The UEFI is stuck in Read only mode so I can't change any settings.

    Try Load Setup Defaults.

    Ive tried.
All options except for Help & Exit are greyed out. Pressing any other keys, such as F9 does nothing.

Any security settings set to disallow bios access?

Does Toshiba have a utility to access the bios instead of direct access?

I don't know if you have seen this page, but is a link to Toshiba instructions for accessing and modifying the UEFI/BIOS:

Im not sure. Only had the computer for about 2 weeks.

It doesnt interfere with everyday use, but since I cant change any settings wont be able to switch to CSM mode, or change any other settings.

Gotta hold down SHIFT while shutting down, to en sure you're really stopping Windows before trying to enter the BIOS.
Gotta use the F2 key when turning the laptop back on. Other keys may invoke the BIOS, but this is the only one that gives you full BIOS functionality.

Sorry for the trouble. Hope this little escapade helps someone else.
