Hi there
after really being satisfied with W8 I've finally had to consider abandoning it for the moment.
I often need to download data from the Web into EXCEL using Web queries -- in particular Stock Market data.
Now any time I try and get external data the query stalls with SCRIPT error -- and the popup needs a manual click of the OK button to continue. This happens several times on ANY web query making the total application impossible to run.
Problem could be anywhere in a combination of these EXCEL 2010 (x-64), IE 10 , W8 x-64.
Even more problematical is that the web query in EXCEL 2010 x-64 might be choosing the wrong version of IE to get the internet query from. (Could be using either 32 or 64 bit IE)
Just too many variables to sort this lot out from.
Not sure how to fix this but I DO need to fix it or W8 is useless for me and I will have to revert back to W7.
Pity as everything else works --but I NEED these applications-- they are managing my Stock portfolios.
Screen shot of W7 query --works and W8 one that doesn't.
Cheers
